Technical Specialist (ATM)
Role Purpose
The Technical Specialist is responsible for the installation and support of Self Service Terminal estate within the UAE. Providing guidance and governance within the SST environment. Using their strong background and knowledge to help maximize uptimes while decreasing impacts through failures.
Main Responsibilities
Impact on the Business
• Minimize ATM failures through coordinated Project Management (PM) schedules
• Strong robust procedures, understanding the best times to schedule work in each location.
• Ensure compliance to Group policies and standards.

• Must be able to coordinate numerous internal and external parties to meet defined goals.
• Working with the software teams to provide a consistent platform.
• Use in depth technical experience to develop junior staff as appropriate.

• Realising efficiencies within the SST estate.
• Find logical solutions to problems
• Proven ability to prioritise competing demands
• Excellent problem determination and resolution skills
Key Challenges
• Pulling together numerous parties to complete SST installations on time.
• Ensuring compliance to the Group’s security guidelines.
• Providing a long term view on the evergreening requirements and feeding this back in the Regional ITO Team.
• Actively participating in Group sponsored SST initiatives defining future strategies.
• Increasing availability to target 99%.
• Understanding the Bank’s SST strategy and planning accordingly.
• The market environment and the complexity of both the business and HSBC.
• A large challenge is knowing where best to focus effort to create optimal value, as almost without exception, every aspect of the role is proactive in nature. The jobholder will be challenged to focus his/her efforts on those projects and initiatives that deliver the highest ROI.
Skills
Experience & Qualifications
• Five years proven experience of SST technologies in an operational role.
•Incident management skills required.
• Practical experience in telecoms, design and planning of new projects, modelling and problem resolution.
• Good understanding of the hard infrastructure aspects such as structured cabling and fibre technologies.
• Sound knowledge of physical security requirements within the SST environment.
