Assistant Relationship Manager
HSBC Bank with a significant presence in the Middle East market has an excellent opportunity for a Corporate Assistant Relationship Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a combination of relationship management and credit skills, experience in similar capacity and with a strong commercial awareness. The successful candidate will provide operational support on a day to day basis to the RM and to help proactively with developing and growing the portfolio.
Responsibilities:
• The primary focus of the role will be on growing the commercial portfolio through acquisition of new customers and increasing wallet share from existing clients.
• To ensure that all the administrative functions of the team / portfolio including the timely submission of Credit Reviews are conducted accurately in accordance with laid down procedures.
• Will be required to support and assist in achieving the financial target allocated to the RM and therefore be driven with results / activities tracked / reviewed on a regular basis.
• Cross-sell the Bank’s range of products and services including Private Banking, Insurance, Wealth Management, Investment Banking, PCM, Treasury, PFS, etc.
• Maintain and exercise control over allotted Account portfolios to ensure that services to customers are of the highest standard while constantly monitoring customer credit quality in order to minimize the risk of loss to the Bank. Prepare all management reports relating to credit approvals, excesses, extensions and other house keeping tasks.
• Maintain the high quality of the allocated portfolio through regular monitoring of the relationship and assessment of the risks.
Skills
• Experience in corporate/ commercial or investment banking, ideally as a credit analyst or a junior relationship manager focused on larger corporate clients
• Sound knowledge of credit risk and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of regulatory provisions relating to banking and finance would be an advantage
• Ability to work under pressure to tight and demanding deadlines is essential
• Knowledge of FX, cash management, trade Finance products & trade structures documentation and associated risks.
• Ability to think "outside the box" and develop innovative solutions for Client needs.
• Teamwork, decision making and strong inter-personal skills.
• Excellent communication skill in Arabic and English (verbal & written).
• Extensive liaison with customers, funding partners and other professionals will be essential in order to resolve difficult situations and to turnaround businesses, so strong negotiation skills are a pre-requisite.
• Strong business development / sales skills gained through previous experience, substantiated by results and achievements.
