Business Analyst, Product Management Team (Financial Institutions)

The jobholder will be expected to drive MI production within Middle East North Africa, reporting locally to the Regional Head of FI P&C Product Management and functionally to the Global FI P&C Program Manager. You will:

Develop strong understanding of HSBC’s internal reporting systems, including HORIS, and should already possess strong capabilities in MS Excel.

Have a keen understanding of senior management’s need for quality MI, maintaining a focus on the relevance of any data in running the business and informing management decisions

The jobholder should also be aware of the need to present information in a manner appropriate for senior management and other high-level stakeholders.

Perform periodic Market Analysis using tools like SWIFT Trafficwatch and present to the senior management on HSBC’s penetration in the Middle East FI segment.

The jobholder will be assisting the FI Products and Sales teams to drive commercialization of products/proposition by providing detailed monthly Product MI and trend analysis.

Develop strong working relationships, both with peers and with senior management, both locally and globally. The FI P&C business (and thus this role) is global in nature, so an ability to work constructively with colleagues worldwide is essential.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field and a minimum of three years, preferably in a financial services environment.

• Outstanding MS Excel skills, along with good knowledge of MS Access; experience with MS Project is also desirable;

• Knowledge of logical data modeling and the ability to present such information in a clear concise manner for senior management;

• Ability to actively listen, interview end-users or clients, and apply information from meetings to complete tasks;

• Aptitude for analytical mathematics and statistics;

• Strategic mindset with strong planning, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills

• A confident, creative, self-starter with excellent written and spoken communication skills.

• The following skill-sets would also be desirable for the jobholder:
o Experience of project management
o Experience of data reconciliation work
o Background of data analysis using Business Objects
o Past experience of Payments and Cash Management, FIG or Trade Services
